Bad Effects Of Red Meat To The Body


This could be a very bad news to steak lovers out there, but red meat can be unhealthy, study suggests. You read it right! This may be the right time to start practicing eating more fruits and vegetables and white meats, because studies shows that there are many diseases that could be caused by eating red meat.
Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and some cancers are just some of the diseases that are closely linked to eating red meat. For years, studies among thousands of participants have found out that death among them are mainly caused by these chronic diseases which are traced and showed a link with their eating lifestyle that are mainly composed of red and processed meat. Making the researchers conclude that the more a person consume on these type of food the greater are the chance of dying prematurely.
But not only the consumers but also the producers, the beef industry in particular, did not find this study to be acceptable. They insist that red meats are not as harmful, as what the researchers are saying, since lean meat are known to improve nutrient intake making its consumption a great factor in keeping a person healthy. They insist that it is the overall lifestyle of the person that causes these diseases and not what he eats alone.
Still, more studies are proving that there is a connection between red meat and chronic diseases and death than those who says there is none. So, maybe it won’t hurt if we start cutting back on its consumption if we can’t really avoid it. Poultry, fish, nuts, dairy products, legumes and whole wheat are also good sources of protein which can replace red meat in our diet. Change may be difficult at first, but it can be very helpful if we will try.
