Aortic Stenosis

Aortic stenosis is generally a type of disorder in the heart which occurs because of thickening of the left ventricle of the heart. Because of this thickening, there requires more blood for the extra muscles of the left ventricle ultimately resulting in insufficient blood supply to the heart. So, do not be surprised if somebody gets fainted, gets sudden chest problems and even dies because of Aortic stenosis.

Regarding the causes, Aortic Stenosis is generally regarded as a disorder mostly common among the older people. Rheumatic fever is also another contributor to aortic stenosis. While people who are younger in age generally experience this disease because of certain birth defects like abnormal funnel shaped valve.

Regarding the symptoms people can experience chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue and even can faint sometimes. If any of the above mentioned symptoms are evident to you, straightly go to a doctor and he through further tests like Echocardiograohy (ECG) would confirm the severity of your problem.

It has been noticed that if you do some kind of stressful exercise your problem of Aortic stenosis might get exaggerated.

Now let us shift the point of our discussion towards the treatment options available. In the case of adults, the best way to treat the Aortic stenosis is to surgically replace the defective valve. Doctors through echocardiography can determine the stage of your condition and at the right time perform the surgical replacement.

Before a surgery, one can try out diuretics, and even some good antibiotics can do the trick for you. In the case of children we should be most careful, as soon as the symptoms occur you should go to a doctor. Because in many cases death occurs too soon in the case of children. Surgically you should remove the defective valve and repair it at the earliest.

Back Pain May be Caused Due To Muscle Knots

There are several causes of back pain. A muscle knot could be one of them. Back pain that arises as a result of muscle knots could be quite nagging. But, nevertheless you can get rid of the pain with some easy and simple tips.

What is a muscle knot?
Quite contrary to what many people believe, muscle knots are the knotting or tying of the muscles. Instead, muscle knots are small sections within muscles that become constricted. This results in consistent pain. So, when the muscles in the upper or lower back pain get constricted, it results in back pain.

There are several factors that may cause a muscle knot to form. It is believed that muscle knots are formed as a result of reaction in the body that does not cause the muscle to relax.

How to treat back pain caused due to muscle knots?
Back pain that is caused as a result of muscle knots is not as serious a condition as chronic back pain. You can easily get rid of back pain that stems from muscle knots. Here are some treatment options that can help you with the same.

Massage
Nothing beats a good massage if you have a muscle knot. A deep massage treatment can help loosen the tightened muscles and provide relief from pain. Try to use essential oils for massage as they are more effective in relieving pain.

Heat packs
Heat packs are highly effective in treating muscle knots. Applying heat to the affected area, increases blood flow in the given area and relaxes the tensed muscles. Fill a tube sock with rice and place it in the microwave for a few minutes. Rice absorbs the heat and retains it for a long time. Apply this to the affected area for at least ten minutes. This will ease the tensed muscle and provide relief.

Anti inflammatory medicines
Sometimes, OTC anti inflammatory medications may be of great help in treating muscle knots. Ibuprofen is a good choice for anyone dealing with muscle knots and back pain.

Exercises
There are a couple of exercises that can help treat muscle knots. Lie down on the floor and keep a tennis ball on the ground. Now lie down in such a way that the area of the muscle knot presses against the ball. This will provide relief. Stretching exercises may also help treat back pain that is caused as a result of muscle knots.

Try these simple tips, but if you are still unable to fight the pain then you may need to consult a doctor for the same. In severe cases, a surgery may be required to fight the problem.

Bulging Disc In Neck

Bulging disc is common phenomenon of lumbar region or lower back. But every bit of spine is susceptible to complication of this kind. After the lower back, the next prominent area of bulging disc is the neck. Besides creating much trouble to your back, if it occurs in your neck, you can become really impotent to turn your neck around.

Bulging disc in your neck is caused when the circular cushions between the spinal joints come out or bulge out due to old age or at times due to some injury. The cervical spine in the area is made of seven vertebrates and a lot of spinal nerves. The vertebra bones of these area are smaller compared to the other bones of the spine except the tail of the spine.

There is a complex network of nerves, muscles, tendons and ligaments to support the spine. The ligaments of the cervical spine control the excessive movement of head or neck that can cause serious injury. The muscles form a balance in the neck region and also supports the stability. Besides all these there are the peripheral nerves present in area.

Thus, when a disc slips out from our body, it is the most symmetrical in its form and a slight change have the impacts. So, with the slipping of the discs. The pressure on the nerves or adjoining tissues starts creating troubles. First symptoms starts with mild pain and then suddenly the pain starts becoming severe. The pain then moves towards the head and the thoracic region of the back. You will find difficulty in moving your neck around, above and below.

The bulging disc in neck needs special medical care. Some medications are given to stop the pain and swelling in case it occurs. But the most important aspect is less movements of the neck and complete rest. Some physiotherapy exercises can also be carried out under the supervision of a doctor for faster relief.

Bulging Disk

Bulging disc is a condition mostly related to the lumbar or lower spine of your back. It is different from herniated disc which occurs mostly due to an injury or trauma. The bulging disc is totally a case of old age problem. Lets have good analysis of the problem so that you can keep yourself away from it or if you are having reduce its intensity.

The discs between the spinal vertebrates are soft, cushion like gelatinous materials. Due to aging, they shrink and dry out, and also lose the elasticity. When the gap in the spinal cord is caused due to the shrinking of the discs, the bones of the vertebrae, exert some pressure to it by the frictional force. The discs then tend to bulge out from the normal radius of the spine. Thus, the condition is called bulging disk.

Many people who are diagnosed with bulging disk have the wrong notion that it is soon going to be harmful. But, this is not the case. The discs that bulge out are not always harmful. A person doesn't feel pain or experience any difficulty unless the bulged disc protrudes the nerves or muscles of the spine. You are suffering from back pain and think that your bulging disc is responsible for it, since some days ago an x-ray carried out for some other reasons of your back showed the image of a bulged out cushion. No, my dear friend I told you that bulging disc may be secondary problem.

So, now you might be thinking how to detect whether the pain caused is due to the slipped disc or not? Thats very simple, visit your orthopedic surgeon. He would carry out an MRI, also called magnetic resonance imaging. The test will give the definite picture whether its exerting or protruding any nerve, or muscles nearby your spine or not. Hence all your doubts are clear and the doctor will further diagnose for the exact problem.
